Tending the Fire Horse:

a heart-centered 10-week summer qigong series to nourish the tendon body and anchor the transformative fire.

  • Rooted in Community.

Practicing in community builds resilience and helps you see internal changes further reflected in your relationships and interactions.

  • Breath Focused Practices.

We’ll practice both coordinated and reverse breathing. In Taoist qigong traditions, reverse breathing is a foundational method for working with the tendon body and helping to open the Governing and Conception Vessels.

  • Nourish Yin to Harness Yang.

In a year marked by heightened fire and movement, yin cultivation becomes essential medicine. This qigong form nourishes the body’s reserves and helps us guide yang rather than be overtaken by it.

FAQ

  • I participated in the previous series, how is this one different?

This is the next form in the Jinjing Gong lineage, usually learned sequentially after the "Yin Yang Sheng Jiang Kai He Gong", although not always. It also works well as a beautiful introduction to the Jinjing Gong lineage. This series is for everyone, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. Each participant will benefit according to their level of skill and experience. Jinjing Gong is a layered, maturing practice—each cycle of practices reveals something new as your body, breath, and internal awareness deepen.

  • Tell me more about the lineage and the teacher Dr. Regan.

Jinjing Gong is lineage based; it's a safe and mature system of practice. The approach comes from a classical, unbroken transmission, emphasizing internal cultivation and and the softening of deep-held patterns through embodied awareness. Dr. Regan is a third generation disciple of the lineage holder Shifu Wang Qingyu, and has been teaching these practices for over 25 years.

  • How much time will I need each week? What if I cannot attend all the sessions live?

Each session is about 1.5 hours (1 hour practice, 0.5 hour optional Q&A), and you are welcome to practice with the recordings as often as you like. Recordings will be uploaded within 24 hours of the live session. Many students notice meaningful shifts even if they simply attend the weekly live class or practice with the recording once a week. The recordings will be available to you for 1 additional month after the live sessions have wrapped up (until mid September).
